Seagate Acceptable Use Policy
Seagate Technology LLC ("Seagate", "we", "us" or "our") provides this forum as a service to our users and customers ("you") to help you exchange ideas and information about our products and services. We are implementing this policy as part of our effort to provide a high quality, collaborative experience, protect the privacy of our users and customers, encourage responsible participation on our forum and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
This forum is here for the enjoyment and benefit of all participants and is accessible to all who register and are 13 years of age or older. Our forum is most valuable when everyone obeys certain basic guidelines and rules for online behavior. These guidelines and rules are presented here so that you know what is expected of you and what you can expect from other participants when using our forum. By registering you agree to comply with this Acceptable Use Policy, in addition to our Legal Terms of Use.
Seagate may, in our sole discretion, determine whether a use of our forum is a violation of this policy. While it is not our intent to control or censor communications of participants, if we become aware of a violation of this policy, we make take such action as we deem appropriate to address such violation.
Seagate reserves the right to amend this policy from time to time without notice. Any such changes will be effective immediately upon posting of the revised policy to this site.

Make sure your postings are relevant.
This forum is provided to allow our users and customers to help each other in using Seagate products and services. Please stay on topic -- refrain from discussing personal matters, abusing any company or product, or, in general, from posting content that is not related to Seagate products and services.
Be courteous.
We want everyone to have a positive experience while participating in our forum. It is your responsibility to make sure that you are not detracting from any other user's experience. Accordingly, please do not post anything that is unlawful, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, indecent, lewd, harassing, threatening, harmful, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, inflammatory or otherwise objectionable or injurious to others. We welcome your opinions, but personal attacks and harassment using our forum or through private messaging are not acceptable.
No spam.
Our forum is provided as a service to our users and customers and is not intended for the promotion of third party services, products, websites, or organizations. Please do not post advertisements, junk mail, spam, chain letters, charity requests, petitions for signatures or any other form of solicitation.
Comply with the law.
It is your responsibility to comply with applicable law. Our forum may not be used in connection with any criminal or civil violations of state, federal or international laws, regulations or other government requirements. Don?t disclose personal information.
Please do not post personal information on our forums including your name and address, age, or phone number. If any user asks you for personal information, such as an account number, address, password or credit card number, do not provide it.
Private Messaging policy.
The Private Messaging (PM) tool is available for any user to use to contact any other user or moderator on the Seagate Community Forums. You can access the PM tool by selecting the envelope icon on the top right-hand section of the community. Any PM is a private correspondence between you and the party to whom it is sent. Before posting any PM correspondence in a public board you must ask and receive permission to do so from the other party.
Consequences
If a violation occurs, Seagate may remove content and restrict access to our forum.
Seagate does not generally edit content posted by participants in our forum. However, Seagate retains the right, at its sole discretion, to limit your access to our forum and to remove material posted by you that, in Seagate's sole judgment, does not comply with our policies or that we otherwise deem to be inappropriate for our forum. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Seagate is not responsible for any failure or delay in removing such material. Seagate may involve, and will cooperate with, law enforcement if we suspect criminal activity.
Please report any suspected violations of our policy to us.
