Since a week my Blackarmor Nas 220 is making a high pitiching sound.
I checked SMART, but everything is oke.
The nas is working normally.
Iám using the latest firmware since it's out.
I powered it off for a night, but when powered on, the sound immediately came back.
Iám waiting for a airduster, maybe it's dust.
Anyone has an idea what this can be?

The sound may be coming from the fan.
The 220 has field replaceable drives and fan.
Open the case and disconnect the fan boot the NAS and see if the noise is gone.
If the fan is the cause Seagate Warranty can get you a replacement fan.
Call Seagate Warranty and have the serial number of the NAS ready.

I have the same issue. My fan is noisy.
I've opened the NAS, disconnected the fan and noise was gone.
Called Seagate support, they said they won't send me a replacement fan for my NAS220.
They want me to send my whole NAS220 for a replacement, which obviously, is not an option for me.
Why you stating Seagate will send a replacement fan ?
Anyway to get that replacement fan ( 60mm x 10mm fan ) from Seagate instead of sending my whole unit ?

I have exactly the same issue, my FAN is really noisy. I can compare because it's my second NAS 220, the first one is definitivly quiet compare to the new one.
I'm thinking about changing it but i need to find a 4 pin connector
Does someone alreaday find a good replacement model?
