Re: Seagate Black Armor NAS 400

I'm having the same problem. We got our NAS last night and I started getting it up and running around 7 last night, following the instructions in the quick start guide.. Today at 4:30, I had the same message as the night before, "System Initial. 4HDDs Found." That didn't seem quite right. I tried a troubleshooter, which got me nowhere; it seemed more geared toward NAS's that had already been intialized.

I tried holding the reset button, which did absolutely nothing. THen I just unplugged and tried starting over. It got stuck on "System Booting Now Please Wait....." I got farther into the process last night. Then I tried taking out 2 of the drives and starting it. Again, I'm stuck on "System Booting Now Please Wait..."

I'm getting quite frustrated; I would really appreciate any help with this.

Thanks!

Re: Seagate Black Armor NAS 400

This is a joke for Seagate to put such piece of crab onto market without enough documentation, no support, no QA.

I am already frustrated with it. There is one more thing you may want to try is go through the factory reset. Do a quick search on Google you will find this application. I already went through this process couple times. Helped a little bit.

I still have not been able to upload a single byte to this shoot after I bought it for over a week now. I am going to give it couple more days, and if still no luck out of it, it will be back to Seagate's storage, and that will be the last Seagate product in my customers.

Re: Seagate Black Armor NAS 400

I had to connect my Seagate barracuda 7200.12 (1TB) drives to my computer and remove the partitions completely using windows disk management and then install them in the Nas 400.  The system then recognized them as new drives and was complete in about twenty minutes.  Maybe this is an issue you are having as well??

Please provide specifics so that I can help you get this issue resolved.

Did you replace any of the hard drives? Which troubleshooting steps have you tried - a pinhole reset? Do you have data on the drive that you need? If you don't, have you tried a factory reset?

[ Edited ]

Thanks, but it was solved this way ... BlackArmor not recognized as the 2 dh ST3000DM001, I got another hd ST32000641AS boot the system and within the system already put the hd's ST3000DM001 to work. SEAGATE to this problem is to observe and modify the system to initialize the BlackArmor also without the hard drives so that it can be easier to identify the plobema. Thank you for your attention

Sorry my English be translated by google. thank you

Did you remove all drives and install them internally into your computer to test them with SeaTools?

If they all check out, the enclosure will need to be replaced:
