I have two 160GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 drives and for the past year I had been using Seagate DiscWizard to image my system to one of those drives and it worked well for that purpose. But, recently I had a need for it to perform a system restore or clone from the image and it failed in both cases. I got the dreaded “Starting Acronis Loader… Acronis Loader: No configuration file present. Press Enter to reboot” message. I tried both restore and clone repeatedly from both inside the system using the spare hard drive and from outside using the optical drive to boot the system and it would not work. I browsed the Seagate and Acronis forums looking for suggestions and saw many complaints. I knew from the start that imaging software had a reputation for being complex and unreliable, but regardless, this was a great disappointment since it has the Seagate imprimatur. Hopefully, you will have more success with the product than I did. I will not be returning to the Acronis/Seagate imaging software and am looking for a replacement.
