Have been running Diswizard v11.0 build 8142 for a couple of years now without problem on 3 PCs. One of these PCs has a Maxtor drive 6Y160M0.
I always create and restore partition backups using a seagate discwizard boot CD. I have not used the program for several months and today when I booted into DiscWizard I got the message that at least one seagate or maxtor drive is required for this program to run. I thought I must have had the wrong boot CD because I vaguely remember getting an error message something like that when I first started looking at image backup solutions and was playing with Acronis (from memory Acronis has Diskwizard built into it). I thought I must have been using the Acronis version of Discwizard. I can't remember but are there different versions of Discwizard, one that comes from Acronis and one from Seagate. The error does say something about Acronis.
The only hardware difference on this machine is that it now also has a Samsung drive, in addtion to the Maxtor. I thought that may have been the problem so I disconnected the Samsung drive but still get the same error.
I can still run DiskWizard from within Windows but that's not going to be of much use to me. The Windows version does say "Powered by Acronis".
I know this error message is pretty widespread and Diskwizard seems to have problems with certian maxtor drives or configurations, or maybe even with seagate drives. The thing is, I never had a problem with this drive or PC before.
Any ideas anyone?

Well don't know what caused this problem but found the workaround.
At the error message hit Alt to (for tech overide I believe), then click OK.
