Ok to clone existing drives onto a Momentus XT?

I have one arriving today hopefully.

However, according to infoworld, ( http://www.infoworld.com/d/storage/seagate-xt-hybrid-drive?page=0,1 ), they imply that it may actually be detrimental to clone your drive onto the Momentus XT, but they don't say why.

Is this true? Are the mixing up the requirement to align for true SSDs?

I wanted to use SuperDuper! to clone my Mac drive, but am weary.

Cheers.

I cloned my Windows 7 x64 drive using Acronis and everything works fine. However, the new Momentus XT drive is considerably slower than the previous Hitachi. Not good.

In my experience, a scratch install is always better than cloning. The latter mirrors "locked" system files (among other things) to the new drive. I suspect the XT's caching system may be especially sensitive to this.
