Hi,
For a couple of years now, I've been running a 1TB Black Armor WS 110 for compressed and uncompressed backups of the main HDD in my Vista x64 Home Premium system.
Today I launched the BlackArmor Backup software and, as usual, right-clicked on a task from the Tasks and Log screen to start a compressed backup -- but nothing is happening! It is as if I hadn't done anything at all. The software is just sitting there, providing no feedback.
The task listing says it's "Idle" even though I have right-clicked on it and selected Start. I've also highlighted the task and pressed "Start" at the top, to no avail. There is plenty of room (350GB) for the 120GB backup on the WS 110 drive, and the drive letter for the WS 110 shows up correctly in Windows Explorer.
Does anybody have an idea of what's going on, and what I can do about it??
Thanks.

Hi EdmundA - the best thing to do here would be to uninstall, then re-install the latest version of the software to see if your backups will run again.
You should be able to download a copy of the current version from this website:
https://apps1.seagate.com/downloads/request.html
If for any reason you run into trouble with that site or simply have additional questions, let me know and I'll help you out.

Hi AskTheLeaf,
Thanks for the link. I tried it, but after entering the drive info and typing the Captcha I was taken to a page for firmware downloads, rather than software. (There wasn't any newer firmware for the BlackArmor drive.)
After rooting around the Seagate site, I found this page, which eventually landed me on another page where it said I needed to contact Seagate in order to download the BlackArmor Backup ZIP file. I'll report back if that doesn't do the trick.

EdmundA, sounds good! Hopefully you won't have to get back with me ![]()
