I previously heared nothing during file copying. Yesterday was the first time this slurping sound was heard when I was copying several Gb of files from my laptop to Maxtor. The sound volume was very low (that means it's soft). The slurping sound was consistent.
You know, when you slurp the little remaining liquid out of your cup through a straw.
I have over 100G of free space left in my laptop and about 10G of free space left in maxtor. The total storage for laptop and Maxtor is 500G each.
Another question is the duration thing: I was copying a few Gb to Maxtor and it calculated to take many hours, then 1 day. (From my experience, copying a few Gb only takes a few min). However, I can see that the copy is indeed in progress even though the same window still shows '1 day'. Towards the end of the copying process, it was '6 min' on that popup window. (And I think in actuality, the process only took several min).
What's going on?
