I am using a plug that connects the eSATA cable to USB of my Windows 7 PC, do I need a driver so that the storage media is detected because when I connect I don't think the item is recognized?
Please help as I am horrendous at PC's ![]()

Hello:
Please try our external drive troubleshooter - http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/support/troublesh
If the troubleshooter doesn't resolve your problem, could you please post the report from Microsoft's UVCView utility?
http://www.users.on.net/~fzabkar/USB_IDs/UVCView.x
Thanks!

Hi, my ports show that only the mouse is connected. Could it be because I have a USB adapter that the eSATA cable is attached to. The other end of the cable goes to the HD box. Thanks for your help!
Steven.

Does anyone know if I can just dismantle the container and plug the HD direct to my PC by USB? I have the necessary cables if this is recommended - please help! Thanks.
