Re: 2TB Expansion hard drive beeping.

Have you tried replacing the power cable with one that has the same specifications? Oftentimes a beeping sounds coming from a drive is caused by insufficient power, so this would be a good troubleshooting step.

Re: 2TB Expansion hard drive beeping.

My Drive wass working fine.  I now have the same beeping sound and nonreconition described above.  After reading yur response I unplug the power sourse.  I have several differend power supplies that wo;; fot the plug in the drive, but there is nothing in the information that comes with the drive as to the power supply speccifications.  The one that had been plug into the drive is now miked up with the other power supplies that fit the drive.  Where can I find the correct power supply specifications, so that I may try to locate a similar powere source?

Re: 2TB Expansion hard drive beeping.

Contact support and provide your SN to them, they'll be able to pull up the power supply specs needed for your drive.

Or look on the adapter itself and see if it tells you on there...it usually does but can't say for sure.

To all users: If your data is stored ONLY on an external hard drive, then it is NOT a backup. A BACKUP is having the data stored in TWO or MORE locations. If it is only in ONE location, you don't have a backup at all. If the data is important to you, then have it stored in multiple locations to prevent data loss.
