This device was working the night befor on Windows XP and 2 days before on same machine now having problems.
Running drive test discovers no problems.
I tried pluging into other ports on the machine but can't get the machine to recognize it at all
after it is unlocked. Before it is locked, the system sees it and I can see the default files and
run Launcher.exe just fine.
What else can be done here?

I am having the same problem. It was working fine, I used it yesterday. I unplugged it from my desktop and hooked it up to my laptop and the laptop and that's where I first got the message. I then plugged it into my desktop and got the message there.
I tried to update my drives in window xp but it said it couldn't find it. I tried to follow the directions on how to get my software but I couldn't find the files they were talking about. I went into add/remove program and repaired it in there. I restarted my computer and Maxtor was there..I was able to unlock it. Then 'pop' "USB Device not recognized".
This is very frustrating.
