Got Seagate Barracuda 7200.10.  200Gb.  Created two partitions, one of 70Gb.  This had Vista but I wanted to restore the disk to 200Gb no partition and install XP.  Somehow managed to delete the 70Gb but now windows only detects 130Gb.  XP loads normally on the 130Gb part. 

BIOS and Seagate Tools sees 200Gb.  Tried using full erase on the seagate tools but this keeps hanging at some point (tried three times - stopped at 15%, 32% and 70%).  Tried setting max capacity but this failed.  HELP!

It was indeed the problem and as I was installing an early copy of XP to update later over the web after which it showed unallocated space equal to the space I was missing and I formatted that made it into a partitioned drive - so no problem now.  Thanks!
