500GB GoFlex Pro USB 3.0 external drive not recognized in BIOS

I recently purchased an Ultra-Portable GoFlex Pro USB 3.0 external drive and installed it on my Windows 7 machine. Everything seemed to work fine (except for the Dashboard trying to find Home Network products every once in a while) until I noticed the slow system reboots. Closer inspection revealed the BIOS did not recognize the drive in it's boot configuration. I tried every port on my machine (Alienware M17x R3) and changing some USB configurations. Would this be a hardware problem with my laptop or the drive itself?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Re: 500GB GoFlex Pro USB 3.0 external drive not recognized in BIOS

Do you have another system you can connect the drive to? If it won't boot with this one, either, then everything points to it being a drive problem and you'd want to exchange the device.

It boots fine on a Toshiba Satellite, so the problem is with my hardware. I could reinstall the USB controller drivers... Any ideas?
