GoFlex Desk External Hard drive

I need a larger hard drive. What I want to do is put my games on the external drive, and play on the external drive. Can I use the seagate Free agent GoFlex Desk External hard drive just like a regular hard drive?  Like if I put a game on the external drive can I play it on that drive, or is it only for backing up files and carring it to other computers?

External drives are for storage only.

The way computers are designed, they require that executable files such as a game resides on the C: drive.
