hi

my FreeAgent GoFlex Drive 1TB, has 909.43GB of memory on it for me to fill, I cannot drag and drop, or save to, this drive. i am using a Mac book pro OS 10.6.8. i can remove files from the ex drive however.

i have followed all the trouble shooting steps but none of these seem to apply to this situation. my start up disk on the mac keeps warning me that it is almost full, hence my wanting to dump to the external drive, is the lack of space on my internal hard drive preventing me from accessing the ex drive?

any suggestions? i'm stuck.

The fact that the drive is almost full shouldn't prevent you from being able to access it.

Are you using the external drive only with your Mac or also with Windows? I'm sharing two knowledge base articles with you, one for each scenario. 

Look over those and see if the drive is installed properly for what you need it to do:

when no one had replied within a couple of days, i used your chat technical service to gain the information i required.

it seems that there was no driver installed on my mac, i have no idea how this happened or how the files had gotten onto there in the first place without a driver. the last drop of data to the ext hard drive was from a pc, i don't know if this somehow changed the settings?

anyway, the tech help assisted me in downloading a driver and now i have access to my files

I'm very glad to hear that you were able to get the drive to work the way it's intended
