3TB FreeAgent GoFlex desktop drive -- can R/w on PC but R/O on Mac

I recently purchased a new 3 TB desktop external drive. I am able to read and write from it on my PC. But when plugged into my Mac after installing the provided software I can only read from it. I'd like to be able to Read and write from both platforms. Is this possible? If it is not allowing me to write from my Mac system how do i solve this problem? I've not turned on any permission restricitons afor read-only access via my PC partition.

Thanks!!

Re: 3TB FreeAgent GoFlex desktop drive -- can R/w on PC but R/O on Mac

You will need to run the mac installer.dmg.  Click MacInstall, then click Mac and PC.  Restart the Mac when prompted.  Once the Mac has been restarted, you should get a screen pop up that is asking to activate NTFS.  You will need to have an internet connection when activating.  Once the activation is complete, reboot the MAC once again and then you should be able to add files to the drive.  This process will need to be done on every MAC that you use the drive with.

To all users: If your data is stored ONLY on an external hard drive, then it is NOT a backup. A BACKUP is having the data stored in TWO or MORE locations. If it is only in ONE location, you don't have a backup at all. If the data is important to you, then have it stored in multiple locations to prevent data loss.
