Can I partion a GoFlex drive evenly for use on Windows and OS X?

So I'm thinking about getting Seagate - FreeAgent GoFlex 500GB External USB 2.0/3.0 Portable Hard Drive - Black for school this fall and most of my classes will be on a Mac.

I don't want to limit myself just in case and I find having two drives to be a waste. So I'm just wondering if I can partion it half Windows and half OS X. I of course would change it later of I needed to for extra space on either. Thanks for any help.

No reason you can't have two or more partitions

Another option might be to use paragon software so the mac can read and write NTFS partitions

Awesome. I'll be buying one then. I'd use that software, but I can't do that on school computers.

Gotcha, in that case have a look at this http://howto.cnet.com/8301-11310_39-57401784-285/the-best-ways-to-format-an-external-drive-for-windo...

FAT32 could be an option for you.
