When I connect my "500 GB GoFlex Slim for Mac" to a "Window 7" guest in "VMWare Fusion 4.1.3" on the latest Macbook Air running Mountain Lion, Window 7 says "USB Device Not Recognized". In device manager, there is a yellow exclamation mark next to the Unknown Device under Universal Serial Bus Controllers. I googled and try almost every possible suggestions but to no avail and below are what I've tried:
1. Updated all the Important Window Updates.
2. Uninstalled the Unknown Device and restarted window.
3. Reinstalled VMWare Tools.
4. Ran Microsoft Fix It and it said it didn't detect any problem with hardware.
I have another 2010 Macbook Air running Snow Leopard and Window XP guest in "VMWare Fusion 3.1.2". When I connected the GoFlex Slim to this computer, Window XP opened the disk automatically. So I know that the Slim is not malfunction.
So is this a driver issue? If so, who's responsible for providing the updated driver, VMWare or Seagate or Microsoft? Any help is appreciated.
