I recently received a GoFlex Slim and as I went to backup my Macbook Pro today, I noticed things aren't working quite right.
Upon initial plugin of the GoFlex Slim, my machine did not recognize it (no options to install whatever software/drivers might be necessary) and immediately the drive began a low, continuous beeping accompanied by a white flashing light.
Any ideas what the issue could be and/or how to fix it?

The low beeping sound can sometimes indicate a lack of power to the drive.
Are you connecting the drive directly to the computer or through a hub?
If you connect it to another computer, specifically a desktop (Mac or PC, just for troubleshooting purposes) does the drive still make the same sound? Does it get recognized at all?

I'm connecting directly to my mac's USB ports(I tried both).
Unfortunately I don't have a desktop to test on, however when I plugged the same drive into a Toshiba laptop the beeping persisted.

Disconnect/reconnect the base and cables from the drive. Make sure it has a secure connection.
Laptops are notorious for not putting out enough power for portable drives so i would still recommend trying to find a desktop to try it on if possible.
Maybe try another cable if possible.
If all of that gets tried and it still doesn't work, likely dead drive. Replace it at place of purchase if you purchased it recently or replace it through warranty.
