All,
I have a Quantum Fireball lct 10 that came out of a Windows98 HP 650 MHz mini-tower. The HP computer boots from the drive with no problem. When I remove the drive and plug it in to a USB to IDE carrier, my computer does not see the drive. My computer does see the USB to IDE adapter.
I've tried this in Win7, WinXP, and Linux. Same results. Windows says it cannot locate a driver for the Fireball. Linux doesn't give me any errors-but it doesn't see, nor can I mount, the drive.
There are a lot of legacy .bmp's and .jpg's that I'd like to pull off. The computer does have a CD ROM, but burning the pictures to CD would be slow and painful.
Thanks in advance,
-Shawn

That is a *very* good idea.
I just wish I had thought of it before I made the post. I will give that a try and let you know how it works.
Thank you very much,
-Shawn

if the machine has USB you could use a USB stick to recover files too
