Backup Plus 3T Desktop on Mac OS 10.5.8

Hi,

I just purchased the 3T back up plus last black friday. I installed it on my mac 10.5.8 and later found that the seagate dashboard couldnt be launched as it is not supported.

Can I still use the drive to back up all my files? Can I still use it interchangeably with windows? Can I use it to back up contents of an older (much older) iMac?

Please advice. Thanks.

Hello,

I'm experiencing the very same problem. Apparently you can run Seagate with Time Machine, but I dont know how... Help somebody?

Re: Backup Plus 3T Desktop on Mac OS 10.5.8

Backup Plus drives are supported in MacOS 10.6 and above.

That does not mean there is no chance it will work, though. There is a chance it will.

If you want it to work with Time Machine, here is how: http://knowledge.seagate.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/214531en

If you find that the drive does not cooperate, however, I am sorry that there would not be much we could recommend except updating to 10.6 or above.
