Okay, I've searched the troubleshooting and the forums and have yet to see my problem. I have a FreeAgent Desk 500GB external drive (edited for issues of privacy, S/N: 2GEXTB6J) which I've been using on an HP dv6000 laptop running Windows Vista for about a year. The drive worked perfectly and backed up the laptop as scheduled. I recently moved the drive to a new HP P6000 desktop running Windows 7 (64-bit) and hooked it up, downloaded the manager software, etc. The computer recognizes the drive as drive F and the files are accessible; in short the drive is functioning perfectly. But when it comes to Seagate Manager, the program recognizes the drive only very rarely. I've been able to back up the computer once, since then Manager has yet to recognize the drive. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Manager in hopes it was a corrupted download but to no avail. Please help!!

How can I uninstall a software program that came bundled with my external drive?[206311]
Try that to fully uninstall it and then retry the download and install.

Thanks for your reply, Alan. I looked for the folder and it doesn't exist in Program Files (x86). I tried the reinstall and again it doesn't want to recognize the drive. So confusing!
