FreeAgent Go versus regular portable external harddrive?

I have a new Lenovo computer with Windows 7. I use the Rescue & Recovery tool that comes with it to back up my system. I need an external drive for this. (I used a Maxtor for my old Lenovo, but it was only 100GB). I am now looking at the Seagate drives. What is the difference between these two?

Seagate FreeAgent Go 640 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive ST906403FAA2E1-RK (Tuxedo Black)

Seagate Expansion 640 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive ST906404EXA101-RK

I would imagine I don't need any software on the drive since the backup software I use is on my computer? If I get the FreeAgent Go one, will I have to format it to get rid of the software in order for my Rescue & Recovery to work? Is that one better as far as connectivity and/or speed?

Recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Re: FreeAgent Go versus regular portable external harddrive?

You can simply delete the software from a FA.

As for the differences, I think it's purely about portabitily myself, FA is nice and slim and pocketable.
