Can I use a GoFlex Home drive with a GoFlex Desk dock?

Hi,

This is just a question.  I have a GoFlex Home Networked drive.  It doesn't connect directly to my computer.  It is a two-piece system (Storage drive + dock).  I want to connect it directly to my computer.  Is this possible?  Because it is a two-piece drive, could I actually buy a Desktop dock and connect The Storage drive part to the Desktop dock and directly to my computer?  If so, where can I buy it?  Or do I have to buy a seperate system?

Sorry if I'm a bit confusing.

You can move the drive cartridge to another dock of your choice.

To purchase these, please visit:

Re: Can I use a GoFlex Home drive with a GoFlex Desk dock?

I just purchased the GoFlex Desk USB 3.0 dock to use with a 2TB GoFlex Home drive. When I put the GoFlex Home drive into the GoFlex Desk dock, Windows recognised that there was a drive present but said I would have to format it to read it (I have already loaded files into the public folder and do not want to reformat the drive).

I purchased the dock after reading the advice above, so was surprised at the drive format requirement. Can you tell me what I have to do to read the existing files on the GoFlex Home via the GoFlex Desk USB 3.0 dock please.

Thanks.
