My Free Agent Go has frozen up and I cannot access it

My Free Agent Go , 9KV2A-1-502  500GB   drive has frozen

The message I get when it is connected throu usb is

" backup suspended due to lack of space "

When I last was able to open it , it looked as if it perhaps had layered the same data on top of one another - ie: backed up the same system several times rather than replacing files ?

I don't know what it is doing.

Anyway , I cannot get it to open

If it's available but unreadable format it, that will remove anything that is stopping it working.

Re: My Free Agent Go has frozen up and I cannot access it

Did this solution work? How do I delete files on the GoFlex Desk? I am getting very frustrated.  I ran the "Sea Tools" checks, and they said my drive is fine.  But it won't back up my system.  This started when I had to re-install my OS, and then loaded Replica.  Replica has 2 copies (one from before the re-install, and one after the install) of my system on it.  I don't know how to get rid of the old files. Should I just format, and start over with the replica?

Yes, format the drive then uninstall/reinstall the software to see if that will fix the problem you are having. Make sure you uninstall both copies if you can...

To all users: If your data is stored ONLY on an external hard drive, then it is NOT a backup. A BACKUP is having the data stored in TWO or MORE locations. If it is only in ONE location, you don't have a backup at all. If the data is important to you, then have it stored in multiple locations to prevent data loss.
