I have decided to upgrade to 2,5" drives and installed Seagate Savvio 10K.5 SED models ST9600005SS. I receive a "Warning" ID 92 in LSI Megaraid Storage Manager log stating "PD is not supported" even though all the drives are recognized correctly. I cannot configure the drives as the "create virtual drives" icon is grayed out. WebBIOS also cannot save any configurations: all drives are listed as "Unconfigured good" SED (unsupported).
The SAS drives are brand new and unless I got a bad batch (is this even possible?) should be OK. 9260-4i worked great with all other drives including Seagate Cheetahs 15K.7 SED ST3300557SS.
I did update the firmware on 9260 to the latest version - same result. In my experience 9260-4i was able handle pretty much any Seagate SAS drives I through at it.
Does anyone know if LSI 9260-4i with the latest firmware supports ST9600005SS drive? Why would 9260 have an issue with my drives and how do I solve them? Thank you.

Perhaps Seagate and its customers might be interested in the following official reply from LSI Support:
"Please note, the drive model ST9600005SS has not been qualified for the Hardware Compatibility List of the LSI MegaRAID 9260 series controllers. We recommend only using drives which are listed as compatible in order to avoid any issues. For more information about compatible devices, I've attached a link to the HCL below.

I certainly hope LSI and Seagate will be able to fix this real fast in the new LSI Magaraid firmware.
