We are thinking about purchasing Momentus 5400 FDE.3 320-GB Hard Drive for our business laptops, so I am researching it. I would like to know how password recovery is handled. What happens when the user forgets his password to access his data? Is everything lost, or can the password be somehow reset? The ad for this hd says: "IT departments can escrow passwords and easily perform security audits on company laptops." (http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=a52f03d4d19ec110VgnVCM100000f5ee0a0aRCRD&locale=en-US ) How can that be done, what is the name of the application that is used to escrow/export passwords and/or encryption keys? Is it possible to get a trial somewhere and test it to see how it works?
