I googled around and found at least one clue. When a SCSI drive reports "SX" in the model number, that usually means it's of OEM origin. And it sometimes leads to the drive reporting a model number that we might not expect, though it might have been the same "bare" drive when manufactured as a drive of what turns out to be a different model number that went to a different OEM or didn't go to any OEM at all. Anyway, this google hit said that this SX9 was probably interchangeable with ST410800N. That number with the specs does appear in our downloadable Desk Reference tool, so that's probably your best bet. --We turn on ideas. Release the hounds.

Thanks for the ST410800N info. Where is the old reference information link for this drive and other older drives?

Erm, I don't think it's accessible anymore. :-( Sorry. The DeskReference, however, is very helpful for that. --We turn on ideas. Release the hounds.

Vaxman SX means it was in an old EMC array. It was used in a Symmetrix Array. Its more than likely is a big old 5 1/4 inch doorstop. I think they were 520 byte formatted. Good luck with that antique. I may still have the Generic Firmware someplace.
