Is it just me or is this a major flaw in Seagate's backup software.
I just bought a 2TB / USB 3.0 Backup Plus External Hard Drive. Using Dashboard 2.0.34.0 with Windows 7.
I have done several backups to test its ability to back up my critical personal data. The product doesn't allow you to backup files in the AppData (under Users) directory where my Microsoft Windows Live Mail folders are found.
Does anyone know a work around for this?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

OK!
I think I figured this out. With Seagate's software I had to go AppData, click Properties and then unchecked the "hidden" radio button. This now allows me to see the directory through Seagate's software. Did not have to do this with my CMS Bounceback software (another machine) so I never thought that the directory could not be seen by Seagate.

I also see this as a major flaw in the software. One should not have to go and mark individual folders as not hidden. It should be an option in the software and by default it should back up hidden files if a users selects to back up everything.
This has caused an issue for me, which will likely lead me to using some other software to backup and just use seagate for the hardware since it's past the return date.
