RESTORE FACTORY DEFAULTS

I recently purchased a 500G Portable Seagate Backup Plus External Drive and would like to use it on both PC win7 and Mac OS 10.6.8.   The Retail Store configured the drive for me but when I tried to use it, it won't open on the PC and asks to reformat it.  The Mac read it and maybe it was wrong that I used it as Time Machine storage because now it just reads Time Machine Backups.

I want the original settings as when it came fresh out of the box.  Will you please help me restore my almost unused Seagate Backup Plus to its factory defaults?

Re: RESTORE FACTORY DEFAULTS

First, save the Mac Installer.DMG file which is on the drive to your Mac desktop.

Then take the drive back to your Windows computer.
Use Windows Disk Management to delete the partition and then format the drive.

Don't forget to use the "perform a quick format" option.

Then safely remove it.

Then take it back to the Mac and connect it there.

Double-click on the Mac Installer.DMG file that you already saved to your desktop.

Follow the instructions as set out in that KB article I posted earlier.

Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
