Seagate Dashboard software update?

I check the updates tab on the Dashboard software that came on my 500 GB Backup Plus drive. After I check for updates It says:

Current - 2.0.28.0

Latest - 2.0.34.0

But then doesn't offer the option to install the latest version as per the user's manual.

I looked into this for you and I'm not sure where you got the .28 version - that's a slightly older one than most people have.

Please contact Tech Support, include your serial number, and they'll send you a way to get the latest version. Thanks!

I can simply download the latest from your site. No need to pester tech support with that. My concern is the software's manual says it will download and install updates and it didn't. It checked for them then offered to check for them again.

As to the source of the .28 software? it was installed directly from the brand new Backup Plus STBU500100 drive I received on Saturday.
