Transfer speed

Hi all,

i have run the seagate dashboard installer after plugging into my USB 2.0 drive i think. then i realised i had USB 3.0 so i plugged it into that. when i transfered a file over from my HDD i was only getting about 60mb/s which i think is the USB 2.0 speed.

anyone know how i can get the full usb 3 speeds? should i re-run the installer? is there some driver i havent installed?

ive checked my motherboard installation and it says the USB driver is installed...

Re: Transfer speed

What is the model number for your drive?

To all users: If your data is stored ONLY on an external hard drive, then it is NOT a backup. A BACKUP is having the data stored in TWO or MORE locations. If it is only in ONE location, you don't have a backup at all. If the data is important to you, then have it stored in multiple locations to prevent data loss.

Re: Transfer speed

Please take a moment to read this article our social media team made available, and follow the instructions provided by it:

Let me know if this still doesn't help with improving transfer rates.
