problem with I/O errors

I bought the external backup plus hard drive. My computer is window 7 and window XP. I have not try on Window XP yet. I want to do Window 7 first. It created a backup about half way, and it says it fail backup because I/O error device, and the code is 0x8078012D. So I really do not know what is the code mean. It ran OK and I tried to copy on manually, and it is working. I tried to use the window backup utilities that came with the window. Can you tell me what is the code mean?

Thanks

Re: problem with I/O errors

Could I ask you to please do two troubleshooting steps?

1) Uninstall the Dashboard software.

Reboot the computer.

Download and install this latest version.

2) Test the drive with SeaTools for Windows.
