I looked up your case and see that you received an email response on 8April09, but I see no response.

Have you indeed responded to that email?

[ Edited ]

Hi, thanks for your reply.  Yes, actually, I repiled to it several times, on 4/8, with new pics, all the numbers on the drive I could read in text and all that, and I offered to just forget about the whole affair if sheli really needed to get the case resolved, that there wasn't anything else I could do.

Thing is, though, you guys had the drive.  No one contacted me for any explanation as to why some of the printing was faded before you sent it back to me.  I included a note with the drive when I returned it explaning this, but I guess no one read it.  I replied to resellerrma@seagate.com .  I can certainly send them to a diffwerent addy if you like.  Thanks!

Re: 2 ST31000340AS 1TB are Invalid Warranty Products ?

I'm having the same issue. I had one of these drives fail on me recently (Not recognized by any system I've connected it to, though it does spin up) and tried to initiate the process of getting it replaced. I submitted a case, but that was placed into "self service" status (????). I then went back and changed it to someone would actually look at it. I was then told to login as a guest to submit a RMA request. When I did I got the same invalid warranty error that is mentioned in this thread. This drive was purchased by me at Fry's Electronics in California less than two years ago and should not be out of warranty already. Per the date code, this drive was manufactured in April of 2008.
