Sorry if this issue has been posted elsewhere, I couldn't find it.
My drive suddenly cuts out even when in use. For example, when listening to music, I'll hear the music cut out for 2-3 seconds and hear the drive spinning up. It then resumes as normal. This is incredibly annoying.
I disabled APM with crystaldiskinfo thinking that was the issue. It still happens. I seem to think it is linked to the Windows sleep settings (20 min.). After disabling this just recently I haven't yet noticed the issue again, but I may just be getting lucky. Obviously, I don't consider disabling features to be a solution so I'm hoping someone can help me out with this.
I'm running CC4H firmware and my drive was one of the chirpy ones. SMART reports no issues with the drive and I have experienced no other issues. It may be worth noting I've never had this issue with another HDD so it has to be related to this drive in particular.

try disabling the power management in the control panel and see if that works any better

Yeah I did that. So far so good, and maybe it's just me but I don't really consider disabling all my drives' ability to spin down while inactive a solution, especially where my computer runs pretty much constantly.

I suspect there are problems with the power management in your rig
any other issues?
