Anyone on a Z77 motherboard had succes? Seems some problems are  related to the newer chipsets.

Thank you, all seems same except mb -which is Gigabyte GA-990FXA-D3- but i guess that's not the real problem here. Anyway i'll try to insert my hdd to another pc and try to update from there. Seems something is wrong with my partition but i didn't identfy it yet.

I'll also try to turn off the UEFi in Bios and see if there is a progress.

Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: New firmware update for Barracuda 1TB/platter drives!

I'm using ASUS p8z77-v motherboard.

I've just disabled UEFI boot sequence but no luck.

I guess the problem is that the bios update program does not detect segate hard disk drives in dos mode.

The device scanner (seaenuma.exe) does not recognize segate hdds properly while updating procedure in dos environment.

Switching from AHCI mode to IDE mode in BIOS fixed the FAILED/drive not found problem for me, just dont forget to switch it back after otherwise windows will BSOD on the next reboot..

Re: These errors about partition limits:

The drives are on UEFI GPT 3TB single partitions.  This is an error from the Windows update tool.  They just need to run the bootable CD ISO version.  We're working on getting this compatibility issue resolved.

AlanM:  Where do the external Seagate products stand in relation to a firmware update? Is there a tool or going to be a tool for a firmware upgrade? Thanks.

External drives

Right now there is not a firmware update related to this for external storage.

But I'd be happy to pass on your info to the engineers so they can do more research on the issue.

If you have an external drive like a GoFlex Desk or something, please PM me your serial number, the firmware revision level (which you should be able to see either on the GoFlex Dashboard or using SeaTools for Windows) (if available), and the symptom you are experiencing.

Thank you!
