Hi, I bought a Barracuda 12 1TB hard drive yesterday, I found it makes lot of noisy like one of my old 3.2GB hard drive, is that normal issue for this series? or I got a broken one.

Need to hear it to say for certain, different brands do sound different.

Sorry for the delay Alex, I'd still need to hear it, or I will just be guessing tbh, if you can't do a recording, try utube and see if there is any video's of someone elses drive making the same or similar noises and link it.

That is normal Braziliano, nothing to worry about there, when it clacks or sounds like a metal drumstick hitting a tin can, that's time to say oh ****!

I do not think all barracuda make this kind of noise, I took it to my friend's place, he have a same one, hardly hear any noise, I put mine in his case, it start to Clicking. so I think is individual issue, Nowadays even fans stop make noise but this hard drive, very ignore me. I just bought it couple of weeks ago.

my problem is same.i've 1TB 7200.12 internal hard.may down grade the firmwire to cc44 or lower fix this sound (how do this)? or may you tell me how change AAM (that is fixed 208) ?
