Hi, I used to be subscribed to the thread on here about the failing 7200.11 drives and as far as I could tell, the proposed firmware updates from Seagate were still causing issues for some people - the general consensus was to wait for Seagate to acknowledge the continuing issues and wait for them to put out a proper, working firmware. Now, it appears the links in those emails go to topics which have since been DELETED. This hints at foul play or a "coverup" and i've had this drive sat here with 1TB of important data for months now, I can't afford to lose it just because i'm being fobbed off by Seagate with bad new firmware.
My question is: can anyone from the old threads tell me what my best course of action is now? Have Seagate released a further, correct firmware for my drive, or are they still recommending the one people were saying didn't help/made things worse? ST31000333AS s/n 9TE0PFK.
Thanks,
Adam

Hi adam d:
I'm sorry about the changing links; news and information on this issue continue to evolve.
But there is certainly no cover-up involved!
Take a look at the top of this board for sticky threads with full firmware information. Please read through all of that and then we'll see if you need any other information.
Have a great day!
