i turned on my computer and got a message like: "no OS found, insert boot disk".
in BIOS my barracuda 7200.11 (ST3500320AS, 9BX154-303, Firmware: SD15, Site Code: KRATSG) isn´t found anymore. the boot sequenze will stop for a moment when the sata drives are detected, and than the message: no OS installed.
i opened my PC and dismounted the HDD. the back of the PCB looks a little fired, don´t you think? on the other side i couldn´t find a melt chip. just some contacts are discolored.
i looked at the forum and found many entries about overvolting the drive. my HDD was built in the computer, so i didn´t use the wrong power supply. other entries described to update firmware, but my drive can´t be found, so i don´t have a possibility to do an update.
do you think, changing the PCB will reanimate my HDD? where can i get the right PCB? found some on the internet, but always one of the chip numbers don´t agree with my pcb.
thanks for all comments.
