HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12
MB: Asus M4A785D-M PRO
OS: Windows 7
Yesterday I came home after a few days and started my computer as usual, using it for about an hour when I got asked if I wanted to play SC2 with a couple of friends. After playing for about a minute Skype started acting weird and finally crashed. I had experienced this before, so I just rebooted and tried again. This time SC2 wouldn't even start, crashing my system while in the loading screen. As I could not access the task manager, I had to shut down my pc.
When I started it again, the BIOS did not recognize my main-HDD anymore. After a couple of retries I installed windows on another HDD and that's how I'm online now.
I might be able to test the Seagate on another PC in a couple of days, but not right now.
When the Seagate is attached to the mainboard, it slows down the BIOS by A LOT. Also, when starting there are a few short clicking sounds, does this imply mechanical damage?
What would you advise me to do/What else could I try? I read that flashing BIOS might help, what do you think?
