boosho, you must use the original board. The replacement board would have different "adaptive" data stored in its serial flash memory chip.

I also have the exact same problem.... However, after re-connecting my drive via usb/esata the drive is still not recognised.

Simple step to rule out a silly one, go into the bios and enable all the usb options.
