Barracuda drive initially hangs on POST, fixed after restart

So I recently installed a 3 TB barracuda, updated the firmware to the latest version, and now I'm having a problem, that everytime I start up the computer, it hangs in the POST screen trying to detect the 3TB hard drive. However, as soon as I press the restart button, it detects the drive normally, and proceeds to boot the OS. The drive works fine, seagates own tester demonstrated no problems with the disk, as did checkdisk.

Any ideas what could be the issue here?

Re: Barracuda drive initially hangs on POST, fixed after restart

Have you checked your BIOS to see if it's set to ATA or AHCI mode? Your computer manual will have the instructions for switching this. There are many different BIOS versions out there, which is why we don't have the specifics on this for you.

Should switching the mode between those two not fix the issue, try updating your system BIOS. If you continue to encounter the same issue, please find out which motherboard chipset your computer uses and let us know.
