This is a perfect example of diaguesstic programs, originally it was 39 days, now you've done what I said it's jumped to over 200 days, and if I was to bet I bet in 235 days time it's still working, you cant rely on these things as god.
I see you are going to send it in anyway, and the age is covered so worry no more about that, but try to use as intended and only go looking for faults if the drive plays up by freezing and black.blue screening, if the replacement is the same I'd recommend the PSU is replaced, any HDD that is getting fluctuating supply will appear faulty.

Canbecanit
In fact the drive that had 39 days of life has 34 now... The ST31000333AS... this one overheated (57ºc) but for some strange reason temps got back to "normal" (21ºC). Still the bad sectors number is rising (757)... this one i will try to replace, if possible by another brand drive... This one made Iomega look bad... Or even better, Iomega doesn't know how to make USB casings for external storage...
The other one i am going to keep until it dies... Don't think/know that the firmware update did anything to fix problem... Temp issues persists... But the outside temp is similar to other divres i have... Time will tell
Thanks so much for everyone's help... ![]()

Sorry, I read the red results and the ist set said 39 days and the later set said over 200 days, sorry if I read them wrong and it was different drives.
Ahh it's an external as well, temps could be due to the design of the case, be interesting to see what temps it runs out of the case.

Just to be clear, the estimated drive lifetime is based on some very simple mathematical model parameterized by SMART values.
I don't think that the model is worth very much. The only good thing that you know is that the drive is saying "I'm not dead yet".
The disk health is bad. If you value your data, get it off now. I can think of few tasks in which this drive would be worth using.

Problems occurred during the spin up of the disk. This can be caused by the disk itself or huge power load (weak power supply).
At this point, warranty replacement of the disk is not yet possible, only if the health drops further.
It is recommended to examine the log of the disk regularly. All new problems found will be logged there.
It is recommended to backup often to prevent data loss.
Faulty components i'ts my guess or just a bad product from seagate... This one i will keep until it dies on me...
Bought it in 11.01.2009(dd.mm.yyyy)... After a year thats it... Useless...

Inside my computer the temperatures dropped to 21ºC with cooling... Back to it's original Iomega casing it overheats... Bad sectors number still rising...

There are 766 bad sectors on the disk surface. The contents of these sectors were moved to the spare area.
At this point, warranty replacement of the disk is not yet possible, only if the health drops further.
It is recommended to examine the log of the disk regularly. All new problems found will be logged there.
It is recommended to backup immediately to prevent data loss.
This one is dying really fast.... I will try to replace with another drive if possible from another brand... I don't want another faulty seagate to replace a faulty seagate...
Bought this drive in 14.06.2009(dd.mm.yyyy), worked for 71 days, 8 hours and thats it... Useless... Yeat another bad product from seagate...
Well, i guess i will not get another drive from seagate ever again...
Thank you

The hard disk is operating in PIO mode which reduces performance. It is recommended to check and replace data cable or modify the configuration.
The hard disk status is PERFECT. Problematic or weak sectors were not found and there are no spin up or data transfer errors.
No actions needed.
