Can't validate warranty via the website

I tried to validate my warranty using this web address:
http://support.seagate.com/customer/warranty_validation.jsp

But no matter which drive I try (I have three), I get an "Invalid Warranty Products" error. Here is one drive:

ST3400632A
Serial number: 5NF1FMRR

I've tried it at home and at work, and on IE and Firefox.  It worked for me before.  Can anyone help me figure

out what I'm doing wrong?

I emailed support and all they said was, "the website is working, you are an idiot."

Re: Can't validate warranty via the website

Is there any chance that you navigated to that link from a non-English language?  We were noticing a few bugs with respect to non-English languages and the warranty validator tool last week.

Please let me know.  Also, you can call Support to validate the warranty.

Re: Can't validate warranty via the website

Hi Alan,

No.  I've tried going directly, and from the seagate.com home page (I live in Boston).  Support did quickly validate the warranty, thanks.  But the website is very frustrating.

Re: Can't validate warranty via the website

The warranty validation page is also not working for me, since yesterday.  I even retried using the link from the original posters message.  I keep getting the 'Unknown' result under Firefox and IE on WinXP (home and work), Safari on Leopard (home), and Firefox on Slackware 12 and Fedora 9 (home and work).  Like the OP, I also tried several different drives.  I know I didn't mistype the model/serial numbers because I cut and pasted the information out either a Seatools for Dos report (XP and Mac) or out of 'smartctl -i' (Linux boxes).

Could you please go to that page and try it yourself, because I think something has broken.  Here's one combination that I tried.

Model: ST3500630AS

Serial: 9QG3QR6L

Thanks.

Re: Can't validate warranty via the website

I have the same problem.

AlanM please help.

I tried to write the case but does not work for me correctly, finally the case was removed without answer...(?)

I bought my Freeagent Go (classic) 250GB under 2 years ago (2008-03-12).

Now when I go to input the model and serial number the website says "Invalid Warranty Products" and it also says "Invalid or missing model/part number or serial entry."

I testet on Polish and English site version.

Model: FreeAgent Go, Serial: 5RG0BC4S
Part number: 9NN2AG-500.
Poland

In this situation, I do not have the possibility to obtain an RMA number.

Calling to Support is not an option, my English is bad.

The hard drive is not even three years, have written on the pack with five years warranty. So for sure the drive is still under warranty.
