Drive begins to squeak and no longer visible to computer.

Model ST3320620AS

I've had 2 of these drives for about 6 months, and everything has been good up until about a week ago.

One drive has begun to emit a squeak about every 1-2 seconds, and it sounds like a noise you would hear from the PC motherboard at boot up (only quieter).   After the squeak started, the computer no longer locates the drive at bootup.  I can see the other drives detected, but the computer hangs for a while and then eventually boots to Vista.  Vista does not show the drive also.

This does not happen everytime, as I can usually boot and all drives are fine.   It's happened about 6 times now and I'm starting to get the feeling the drive is about to fail.

I just had the PC boot and the drive was at it again.  This time, while the PC was on, I pulled the power on the drive and the squeaking stopped immediately.   After reconnecting the drive, just prior to a cold boot, the drive started working again.

Here is what I have tried so far:
     1) reseating all the connectors and moving the SATA connector to a different port.
     2) Connecting to seagate.com and used the online disk diagnostics (everything checked out fine)
     3) Using the Seagate disk at boot.  Cant run the diagnostics because it says NTFS partitions dont get a drive letter, and program exits doing nothing.
