Firmware? Which one? Why not update all drives?

I have several drives that may be affected by the firmware issues that Seagate is having.

 

Why can't I just update all the drives with the latest firmware for that model?

 

For example, I have a ST31500341AS drive with CC1G firmware. I know that CC1H has been offered and that there are dirves out there with CC1J on them. Why can't I just update to CC1J? Where can I even find the firmware?

 

I also have several 500gig drives with SD15 on them... Again, where can I find the firmware and are ALL drives with thie firmware affected?
