HD issues

[ Edited ]
Ok I seem to have a problem with the new HD I bought not showing up at all in bios. The hd is a Seagate sata drive model ST310005N1AS The MB is a Asus K8V-SE DLX Also the OS that i'm running is Win Server 08 have not seen it show up in disk management either. I also have a SIIG controller card model SC-SA4M12 that I have 3 other hd's hooked up wo and work fine. If I plug the new hd into that it will show up in the boot up screen but once is shows the other drives and then goes to that one it just sits there and does nothing. So then I have to unplug the drive and it will boot up fine.

Anyways any help would appreciate it if you need any more info please let me know.  Thx's

Oh also I have tried it with the jumper on and off and all the diff ports on the MB as well.

Re: HD issues

It looks like you're drive is exhibiting a common problem reported on these forums. You will want to search for articles that mention "7200.11 firmware". If the drive is new I would reccomend returning to where you bought it.

Re: HD issues

Do you or anyone else have any suggestions for a drive that will actually work then? I would appreciate it as I am looking for a new drive. Would like a 1TB 7200 and at least a 16MB buffer or better.  Thx's for any help. I will also look around for what you told me to.
