Hard disk0 has been damaged

Hello, i was wondering if due to the fact my hard disk 0 was damaged, if it was the problem that is causing my laptop to crash and freeze. The Device is ST9160821A ATA Device. I was wondering if i should contact my manufacturer and ask them to send me a new one or whether this problem can be fixed on my own. What do you think i should do?

Try running Seatools for DOS on the drive, short and long tests.
