Hello everyone, I did a search and couldn't find a topic with my particular issue so I'm posting this and hoping it isn't a repeat that someone else posted. I just bought a 160GB Barracuda 7200.10 PATA/100 internal HDD that I'm attempting to install. Now this is a computer that I'm building from the ground up. I've installed the drive properly and I've got the CD/DVD-ROM drive set as the boot location. Actaully, it's the ONLY boot location I have set up at the moment (I'll change it once I get Windows installed). I get the "1962: No OS found. Press F1 to restart boot sequence" message. I read the manual that came with my drive and it says to use a floppy drive; I don't have and haven't had one for many years. I don't have a CD drive either it's a DVD. Now I know my DVD drive reads CDs and when I place the Windows XP Pro CD into the drive I still don't get anywhere. I'd have called tech support but they won't be back until tomorrow. So the question is: how do I get Windows to install off the CD on a completely new computer?
