Hi all, Ok, first off, i've searched with keywords like "clank & clunk", even "is this normal", etc, and couldn't find anything related to MY particular situation. This is my 1st Seagate drive so i wouldn't know if it's NOT normal to hear this sound. It's about a three fourths of a sec to one full sec long of a "clink, clank, or "clunk" type of sound - and not very loud - which happens every now and then on a new BarracudaXT 3GB drive (ST3000DM001). When it's idol i rarely hear it, but when i'm clicking around on stuff it makes the sound. It doesn't sound "bad" or anything, but if it's not supposed to be there, i want to take it back to Best Buy before the 14 day grace period is up. I'm using it for storage and the 1st partition for recording streaming audio/video in a studio.
My Specs are:
(It's about a year old system)
Thanks for ANY help or ideas you may have since i'm clueless.
